This October, the new SuBamuh land residents would like to invite you to our 150-acre slice of Ohio for an afternoon and evening of rekindling the land (and campground) on Saturday the 20th. The wood gathering is an opportunity for the community to meet the new land residents at the Susan B. Anthony Memorial Unrest Home, learn more about the shift from women’s land to queer land currently taking place, and feel closer to the Appalachian foothills. This is a very kid-friendly event from 2-8pm. Centered by the barn we will gather wood, have a costume contest, hike a haunted trail, bonfire, have a potluck feast, and enjoy more adult festivities after 8. If you’d like to stay the night, camping is $7. Members get in for $5. Bring camping gear and equipment if you plan to camp.

Learn more about SuBamuh and its new developments as well as discuss upcoming events, programs, and directions as we approach this Halloween season.

New Land Group

Dear Friends of SuBAMUH,

We are excited to inform you that we are welcoming a new land group to the community! With this big change comes other new developments: The Board has agreed to foster inclusivity by welcoming visitors, residents, and campers of all genders to SuBAMUH. We want to assure you that we still honor our ecological and women-centered mission. There will still be women-centered events at SuBAMUH. We are feminist-focused, with an evolving and open-mindedness to multiple definitions of feminism.

We hope you will be part of this change. The past year has been tumultuous, and we did not send our usual fundraising letter. We encourage you to renew your membership! Remember to come and take advantage of our beautiful trails, and the campground is open! We are confident that the new land group will bring many new activities and workshops to SuBAMUH. Watch the FaceBook page and your emails for updates, and try to come see us!

Finally, watch for a newsletter later this summer for more details on these changes, and to get an introduction to our new residents. I hope you will join us in making them feel welcome.

Thank you for your time and support of SuBAMUH.

SuBAMUH Announcement

The Board of Directors of the Susan B. Anthony Memorial UnRest Home and Women’s Land Trust would like to inform all that we are no longer seeking proposals for a new land community. We are welcoming new arrivals!

SuBAMUH is open for camping, but we want you to know about changes so you know what to expect. We are transitioning to a broader, more inclusive brand of feminism, and we are no longer women-only. We remain a women-centered, ecological and educational nonprofit.

Watch for a newsletter in late summer introducing our new land residents! As always, contact us at subamuh@gmail.com with any questions, or to come visit the land!
